Quickly Evaporating

Recently I have been wearing the same few scents over and over again. Can't seem to get enough of Lyric, no 5 or Deneuve it seems like. I haven't been wearing a lot of my Andy Tauer perfumes. After that LADDM mini breaking and a fair chunk spilled on my hand, I haven't been wearing them too much. So I took a break.

After going through a couple perfumes, I took a look at the Andy Tauer bottles that I had on my dresser. In spite of me not really wearing them for a couple months. it looks like some evaporation took place. I do find that a little strange though. The bottles of Noontide Petals, Une Rose Vermeille are older bottles and I have worn them but they shouldn't really be as low as they are. Noontide Petals and URV aren't that terribly used up but LADDM is a fair bit lower. I'm not so upset that LADDM is somewhat evaporating in all honesty since LADDM is still in production whereas the other two are not. I am honestly thinking that it's the whole design of the bottles and spray mechanism that is probably the issue or even the cap itself that is the issue.

With everything going on with the evaporation and looks like Andy Tauer is revamping his whole lineup, I am currently reluctant to get and more Tauer perfumes at the moment. I don't veiw that as such a bad thing though since I have to much perfume already and really ought to start using up full bottles.

Valentine's Day and Amouage Lyric

Valentine's Day is winding down and there is another winter storm coming. Valentine's Day isn't a very interesting holiday to me. Probably because after the 5th grade, there were no school parties that were held and the joy of the whole day ebbed away. So Valentine's Day is just another day.

So there is another winter storm bearing down on my neck of the woods and I have most of what needs to be done finished up. I did say earlier that I have 3 weeks worth of which candles I want to use. It's now up to 14 weeks and I usually go through a candle a week. Now I am just hoping that the power doesn't go out and if it does, doesn't stay out for long. I am not game for spending 2 or 3 days without electricity.

While writing this, I am awash in Amouge Lyric for women. I haven't been too keen on trying the new Amouage offerings. After I tried Lilac Love and another more recent Amouage, I couldn't bring myself to try anything new with Amouage. But Lyric was one of the first, if not the first great perfume love when I was falling down the rabbit hole and wanted a bottle for the longest time and finally got one about 5 or 6 years ago. I had initially purchased a 1.7 ounce bottle but the company that I ordered from ran out of the 1.7 ounce bottle but offered me a 3.4 ounce bottle for the same price that I paid for the 1.7 ounce bottle. I have taken to wearing Lyric a little more often that I have in the past year. With the travel set, full bottle and body stuff, it's easier to do. It's a perfume that I wouldn't wear to work but I wouldn't wear any of the Amouages that I have to work. I don't want to ruin Lyric with work.

I am a Chanel Baby

Growing up, no one in my family really wore perfume on a regular basis. Once in a great while my mother wore Chanel Pour Monsieur and that was mostly on Christmas Day. But I don't have any recollection of any adult wearing perfume on a regular basis in my formative years. Mom might have worn no 5 once or twice but can't quite recall. Or was that in middle school when girls would rub their wrists on those perfume ad strips?

It wasn't until I had my first job and some spending money that I kind of paid attention to perfume. At that time, Clinique Happy, Estee Lauder Pleasures and Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon exploded onto the scene and I wore all three. But I still didn't really pay attention to perfume or wear it on occasion. It just wasn't on my radar.

For a few years, I just didn't wear perfume. Didn't have a whole lot of extra funds and nowhere near a mall or a Bath and Body Works. Online shopping was still kind of a novelty in the late 90's and early 2000's. Then, Chanel sent me an email about the Les Exclusifs line. I don't really know how or why I ended up getting on Chanel's email list. I ended up blind buying Cuir de Russie. This was back in the day where I knew next to nothing outside of Pleasures, Happy or Cucumber Melon. Back in the day where a 200ml bottle was about $200 and only came in the 200ml size. Naturally, things and prices have changed. The Les Exclusifs line went sky high in price, went from EDT to EDP (and not exactly for the better, Coromandel smells pretty decent in EDP form), two sizes and parfum versions on some have been released.

At the end of the day, Chanel has been imprinted on me at a very early age. Do I wear Chanel exclusively, no but often enough. Do I own every bottle of Chanel? Definitely not. I haven't liked everything Chanel released but do have a fair bit but it's mostly the classic stuff.
