Montale Full Incense Review

It's been a long weekend for me. Even though I had the weekend off, it was full of things that I wasn't looking forward to doing. Cleaning was something that I was not looking forward to doing. It wasn't a top to bottom clean but dusting, vacuuming and then having to tackle the bedroom. Sorting things, throwing things out and then having to put it back together. It's amazing how much crap that gets accumulated without realizing it. Finally, it's done for the weekend. I might get going on some wall washing and steam cleaning carpets in the bedrooms later in the week or next week.

Yesterday and today, I had spent time with Montale's Full Incense. I do enjoy a good incense dominant perfume. The best time to enjoy them is either in the fall or winter. I mostly enjoy them in the fall. Cleveland has clambakes, bonfires, falling leaves and just a different smell in general and incense just works.

I have never spent a whole lot of time with any offerings from Montale. I think that it's a house that has never really caught my eye and stayed on my radar. But when STC ran a sale recently, I was looking for something that was kind of cheap. I had thought I grabbed another decant of something but Full Incense was the one I grabbed and sprayed. Immediately, I knew exactly what perfume that it smelled like and Full Incense smelled just like Avignon.  Full Incense is an almost ripoff from Avignon, maybe a little smoother and longer lasting. Full Incense it a little more approachable than Avignon but not very different. I swear that it smells just like Avignon, I had sprayed it on mistakenly but nope. I had looked at Luckysent for some peer reviews and I am not alone is most of what was said. For an EDP, Full Incense is a long lasting perfume. I had sprayed some on at 2 this afternoon and I am smelling the extreme dry down at 11pm.

For the price tag of $120 and a longer lasting power, I kind of have to nope out of that one. I just don't see how I can justify a $25 markup when there is CdG's Avignon for $25 cheaper. Yes, I have become pretty cost conscious due to cutting back and just don't see the merit of spending tons of money on one bottle o perfume so much any more. I am thinking that my collection is still pretty large and I must keep up the trying to use up some bottles of perfume before acquiring more of them.

Montale Ginger Musk Review

Yesterday, after wearing Diorling, I had pulled Montale's Ginger Musk out of my unsampled bag to wear. And this morning, I am trying it out again and not exactly liking it. I honestly think that it's the fruit and laundry musk combination that bothers me. I've always had a hard time with fruit and musk can be questionable but this time, in this perfume, it just doesn't work for me. There was no animalic growl or anything to make me think that there was anything more to this perfume.

This is the 3rd Montale offering that I have tried and I did come to the opinion that Montale is not for me. Greyland seemed to fall apart on me, Jasmine Full was a candied jasmine and Ginger Musk was just weak and it seemed like more of a mainstream offering than a niche offering. Now my wallet can breath a little easier.

Mazzolari Musk EDT Review

I am always on the prowl for new (to me) perfumes loaded with skank and a while back, I had ordered from Surrender to Chance a musk sampler set. I had forgotten that I did order it and really need to get going on trying this out.

Last night, I was trying to figure out if I should wear Montale's Ginger Musk or Mazzolari's Musk and I picked Mazzolri Musk. At first, I couldn't make out what was going on because Musk us a little spicy and maybe a little acrid to my nose. Then it's just straight up musk and maybe some spices to keep from being really boring. But in a sense, it is boring. Musk is laundry musk trying to be that girl who is trying to hint around that she my be an animal in bed. But it doesn't work out that way because it's cuddly and pleasant. I would like to keep a small decant around but not a 100ml full bottle of it.

iPods and Montale Jasmin Full Review

For maybe the past 6 or 7 years, the only Apple product I have had is an iPod. It all started when the first iPod Shuffle came out. I had quickly outgrew the Shuffle because at that time there was only 1 gig of space. Then I went to the iPod classic when I could only get one with 80 gigs of space. When I got the 160 gig Classic, my dad inherited my old 80 gig Classic because it was a lot better than using it as a paperweight and he could use it for those long plane rides. Now after constant use, my current iPod needs a new battery. After poking around the Apple website, it would run me about $60 and I am not sure how much labor would cost. It always seems like one has to pay an arm and a leg for labor on top of the cost of whatever you are replacing. Since next weekend, I will be traveling and have a busy week before then, I do not have time to go out of my way to an Apple store or ship it in through the mail, I ordered the latest iPod Shuffle. It maybe only 2 gigs but I'm not really sure how much I am going to be listening to music or watching any kind of video, so it suits my needs for a weekend trip.

I'm still kind of on a jasmine kick and have branched out. By branching out, I mean that I am trying other jasmine dominant perfumes and not quite as hyper focused on Sarrasins or A La Nuit.That has led me to trying Jasmin Full by Montale. Jasmin Full is very different from Sarrasins and A La Nuit. Jasmin Full is a bright jasmine. A La Nuit, Sarrasins, and Bath and Body Works' Midnight Blooming Jasmine were heavy and dense. Besides getting a whopping dose of jasmine, there is a huge orange blossom note. Both jasmine and orange blossom are heavy on indoles, I do not get the fecal element like I do with Sarrasins. Lasting power is about average for an EDP on my skin. For the life of me cannot decide if I like this or not. So getting a bottle or keeping a decant around it up in the air.

Montale Greyland Review

Thus far, there do not seem to be many reviews on Montale's Greyland EDP. I've been having a difficult time trying to decipher this perfume then attempting to write a somewhat decent review of this perfume. Then it hit me, Greyland is similar to Chanel's Sycomore. Greyland is a woody scent with a little bit of skank to it. But Greyland falls into the masculine camp of perfume, where Sycomore is a little more feminine. Instead of smelling of vetiver and cypress, Greyland smells like a cedar chest that someone tossed a sweaty T-shirt in there and left it in there for a couple weeks. Greyland is a very dry perfume because there is no sweetness to it. I've noticed that I'm not fond of dry perfumes so I didn't enjoy Greyland. My pocket book is sighing with relief because I will not be getting a bottle.
