I Finally Managed

When I posted about how committed I was to finishing that bottle of Chanel no 5 edt, I wasn't so sure if I was going to be able to do it. My perfume collection is so large and I don't often wear the same perfume more that two days in a row. But I knew that I was going to struggle with this, no matter how committed I was to finishing a bottle.

It was a little bit of a struggle yesterday and this morning. Yes, I was struggling over the 3 sprays left of one freaking bottle. I kept telling myself that there was just a smidge left and I could get through this. I am not really looking to procure anymore full bottles of perfume right now. I don't really have the means and I just don't have the drive right now to get more.

What I am trying to do is stock up on basic stuff right now. Body wash, toilet paper and other basic things. I really need to get that stuff all taken care of. With winter coming, I would rather start stockpiling the basic stuff. I don't want to get caught in a snow storm trying to get milk or toilet paper because I didn't bother to go shopping to get said items that I've needed to get for the past week. The Farmer's Almanac is predicting a colder, snowy winter in my neck of the woods and if I have already stockpiled on some basics, I don't have to go out.

I've gotten back into the habit of having lit candles and trying to use some of them up. I will admit to the fact that Bath and Body Works did have some really good candle deals recently. And I have noticed that they have really started to release their winter/Christmas stuff. The candles that I really want to stock up on are the Winter, Tree Farm and Frozen Lake candles. What's great right now is that Bath and Body Works doesn't seem to be ignoring their single wick candle line up. In years past, they seemed to just focus on the 3 wick candles and pretty much ignore the single wicks. I am planning on partaking in the single wick candle sale that they have going on right now. I don't plan on getting a whole lot and I am probably only get 2 or 3 candles for Candle Day. Let's hope by Candle Day that I have made a sizeable dent in my collection.
 

Cleaning and Rearranging Stuff

For the past few weeks, it's been an effort to clean and rearrange shit in my house. For every project that I complete, I realize how much shit I actually own.

Today was the day that I "had" to turn my attention to my dresser. The project of the day was placing my old dresser somewhere else and replacing it with another, bigger dresser. Other people in my household wanted to do that. And that meant that I had to pack up my entire perfume collection. When I was packing up my perfume, I didn't count how many bottles that I had but became more aware of the sheer number of back up bottles that I did have. When I was packing up, I was more concerned about the dabber bottles that were opened and making sure that they were didn't get tipped over in the box.

The dresser that I moved into my room is taller, has more drawers to it. In went a million shirts, shorts and jeans. Putting all of my full bottles on top of the dresser isn't practical because of the height but I was able to place all my candles and some of my Galileo thermometers on top of the dresser. This means that I have three boxes full of perfume bottles split up into two places and no clear solution to get them back into one spot yet. As this was going on, this was the perfect time to get rid of more clothes that I didn't need or was worn out.

But some interesting things did happen while this was going down. I did manage to finish a full bottle of vintage BaV. Yes, I actually finished a bottle of perfume and I was so excited to do that. But with the dresser switch, a bottle of vintage(ish) of Chanel no 19(EDP, 1.2 ounce) was found and I forgot that I had more no 19. For the better part of an hour, I was wondering when I had bought the bottle and how in the hell did it get behind the dresser. I think that it might have either gotten knocked behind the dresser or  just randomly fell back there. I thought I was actually starting to make headway into finishing bottles of perfume but it looks like I didn't make progress at all.

A few hours later, I did a rough count of all my full bottles. I counted 95ish but I am sure that number is wrong and much higher. I didn't count my minis because I don't view them as full bottles but did count all of my back up bottles. Ninety-Five full bottles is a little embarrassing but kind of funny and I didn't think that I was up to about that number. I knew my collection was big but not that big.

It's a New Year

It's my first post of the new year and I don't have much of anything to report. So I don't have much of anything except this rambling post. So please bear with me on this one. I did try Jubilation 25 for men but I need to spend more time with it before I can do a review.

Every year, I've always hoped that I would finish a couple bottles of perfume before the year's end and that never happens. Well, today, it did. I have what seems like a million bottles of vintage Bal and today, I managed to finish a 1 ounce bottle of the cologne. I'm excited that I actually finished a bottle of something but saddened at the same time. The current version of Bal is a disgrace and vintage Bal can be expensive. Hopefully, I can get another bottle or two finished before adding anymore full bottles to my collection. I can't exactly go out and buy any full bottles because the finances are not there and probably won't be until sometime in March or April, when I do my taxes.

I will admit that I do enjoy Star Wars and did get to go see that a couple days after Christmas. I will admit that is was to the point of too long and that some stuff in the movie was pointless or not explained, I did enjoy the movie. I wasn't happy about how Rey's training went down or how Snoke's backstory and who he was were my two biggest gripes. I am not holding my breath with Episode 9 to explain or correct any of that. I do believe that Episode 9 will be that last Star Wars that I will watch. With Han, Luke, and Leia gone, it won't be the same.
