Well, That's Not Happening

Previously, I had blogged about getting that back up bottle of Memoir from Fragrancenet. I don't know what exactly happened but that bottle never arrived. What I am thinking that either the bottle broke, lost or either stolen in transit. I am leaning more to stolen. I have had packages stolen in transit before. Fragrancenet had said that they could either give me a refund or reship the package. At this point, I didn't even want that bottle of Memoir, so I asked for a refund. There are so many new shipping companies and some that I never even heard of. I've never heard of Better Trucks for a shipping company, so right now, they are not in my good graces in terms of shipping.

In the Cleveland area, we finally got some rain with more expected over the next few days. So many yards went brown and all the flowers were just not happening. Now with some rain, I think everything will start perking up.

For the longest time, I've hated tuberose as a dominant note in perfume. I thought that it was always too much. Now it's becoming one of may favorite notes. Narcotic V has helped me change my view on tuberose. But I think that I tried Fracas in my early perfume days and thought that it was just too much of everything but always had a love for jasmine perfumes. I am not sure what happened with my nose and tuberose but my nose has probably developed more to where I can enjoy it. Go figure.
 

The Continuing Saga of Spring

I don't know if spring is coming or going. Yes, the trees and bushes are starting to wake up but flowers on the other hand is another matter. The primroses are blooming just fine and will continue to do so, we are finishing up with the daffodils and not seeing a whole lot of anything else blooming. No irises, no lilac bushes are blooming. It just seems to be a whole lot of nothing. We might get one day that's warm and sunny but so many of the days are cold, gray and rainy. I don't really think spring is here and Covid-19 isn't making things any easier. Still can't go anywhere or do anything.

At this point, I am happy that my Viktora Minya travel set shipped yesterday after me gripping on Now Smell This about things not shipping. It should arrive by Thursday or Friday and I can't wait to check it out. My Harry and David packages should arrive by the end of the week. One of those packages contain a Mother's Day gift. I am still waiting on my Sephora packages to ship*. I had made my Sephora order on the 23rd of last month and I have only gotten an email on how things are delayed due to Covid-19, sanitation at Sephora warehouses and the Sephora sale. I know a lot of this is first world problems but after what, about 2 months, nobody can have a better system in place by now? I'm hoping that the last of my packages are shipping soon, before I know it, my mother's birthday will be here and I don't really want to go the lame ass route of just a gift card and a happy birthday card.

*One of my Sephora packages has shipped at the time of blogging. Just wish both of them shipped today.

Life Suspended

Right now, life is kind of lousy. With family illnesses, some financial drama on top of Covid-19 shutting down everything, I can't catch a break at this point. I made the decision to hold off on getting a new bottle of perfume and just about all frivolous spending. I doesn't mean I won't get myself something nice but even with the stimulus package, I really have to seriously cut back on trivial spending. And I just wrote that sentence as I place an order for 2 Chanel no 5 bar soaps.

But the things that I have ordered at the beginning of the month, haven't even shipped yet. My Gap order that I placed over 12 days ago hasn't even shipped, my dogs' BarkBox has shipped 5 days ago and it's sitting somewhere in Indiana. When I placed my Skyn Iceland order a couple days ago, Ulta had let me know yesterday that with the Covid-19 virus, things are taking longer to ship and when they ship, it's taking longer to get to my house. I know that the stuff I have ordered isn't essential stuff and a couple things are for birthdays in mid-May. But it's the annoyance of so many things. Nobody can really go out and do anything, if you order online, it takes forever to get a damn thing. Even Prime Pantry orders are taking at least two weeks to get to anyone's house. I am pretty sure that the post office, UPS and FedEx employees are feeling the strain of all of this. I am hoping that things get back to normal soon.

Fun with Amazon

I've always enjoyed shopping on Amazon and never had issues with their shipping. Until today, well I, should say yesterday. I had ordered a calender and few other things that have not arrived. I had ordered Serge Lutens' A La Nuit and had received that it maybe late. Where it was coming from and what weather conditions were, I was understanding but A La Nuit, much to my surprise, did arrive on time. Four items haven't made it to my doorstep and there was no e-mail to give me a heads up. Needless to say, I am not happy with Amazon and sent them an e-mail. We shall see what happens with this.

Oh Dear...Broken Decant

I have had a lot of great experiences with The Perfumed Court and always seem to overspend my perfume allowance there. But I must say that I am a little bummed out though. I came home from work today and opened my package from The Perfumed Court. What got my attention was the fact that my package was very fragrant. I've gotten some decants that gave off a slight amount of fragrance. I pulled out the order slip and became very suspicious. The vial was broken and the attar had leaked all over the inside of the package. Every package that I have received from them has always been very carefully packaged and this was no different. Right now, I am giving the USPS the side eye. I have sent the Perfumed Court an e-mail to let them know that my vial has arrived broken. I hope that I won't have to send back the vial. I'm going to see what happens now.

Gap

I do enjoy online shopping very much for various reasons. But I've noticed some things with the Gap store online. Most of the time, I only get one or two shirts (favorite crewneck tees) at a time and it's usually when I get an e-mail of at least 25% or more. One thing that bothers me slightly is the $7.00 shipping unless you are buying $50 or more. Gas prices have gone up and that may account for some of it but Gap uses USPS to ship orders. Yes, Gap uses snail mail to ship stuff. I usually get the favorite tees to wear under my work shirt and when my shift is done, I take my work shirt off.

The second thing that bothers me is the selection of colors of said tees at Gap.com. There are only so many tees that I can own that are black, gray, white, and navy blue. Let's just say it can get old after a while. I'm one to sometimes want to wear a green, orange, yellow or purple shirt. Let's face it, there are those of us who live at least 25 minutes or more from the nearest Gap store or outlet store where can get tees in those colors.

The quality of Gap shirts no matter which one it is has gone down. The material of the shirts has gotten thinner and I want my shirts to last. The past couple times I have gotten shirts from Gap were thin and maybe lasted a cycle or two in the washer before they started to show wear and tear. It's those very little holes in the shirt from only one washing that bother me. I did not buy a shirt to be regulated to the whole just hanging around the house so I'm not so interested what I wear. I must clarify that sometimes some shirts are so thin that the color of my bra are showing and this is especially true of the lighter colored shirts. I'm not one that is fond of wearing camis or tank tops under tee shirts.
